Master Gil is the director of the American T.K.A. Universal Martial Arts School since November of 1998. He teaches Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai and Kick Boxing Aerobics for children and adults alike. Master Gil began his study of the martial arts in 1976 at the age of eight. He studied the art of judo in Cuba where he received his green belt and had Olympic aspirations. As Master Gil progressed in the martial arts his drive and athletic ambition led him to become the full contact champion of the W.K.A. in 1985, 86, and 87 with a record of 17-3-10 KO.
He was ranked professional in November 1984. Master Gil has held other titles such as First Place - Fighting, Second Place - Forms in International Competition in the Caribbean.
However he didn't stop there. Master Gil, received his Black Belt in Chinese Kempo in Puerto Rico in March 1990. He later obtained his Tae Kwon Do Black Belt, and currently holds a fifth degree. His love of the martial arts led him to creative and positive roles within the martial arts.

Master Gil created the Kick Boxing Federation in Puerto Rico with national and international competition. With federal help he was able to develop a program for those economically challenged and made it a priority to help teenagers overcome drug problems. Master Gil invented new dimensions in kick boxing aerobics such as beginner, intermediate, advanced, as well as the use of multiple steps. He also created Circuit Kick Boxing Aerobics and Water Kick Boxing. He is also a Muay Thai instructor certified by the U.W.M.T.A under Vut Kamnark and is the representative of the W.K.L. in Florida and Puerto Rico.
Master Gil has studied martial arts with great legendary figures like Bill 'Super Foot' Wallace, Joe Lewis, Vut Kamnark, and Jhoon Rhee but his greatest satisfaction comes from bringing his love of this art to his students. He takes pride in the quality and progression of his students and makes it a personal commitment to see them succeed. One of the phrases he uses often in class is 'I want quality not quantity'. Master Gil loves his young students and has received much praise from proud parents. They have written to thank him for the positive change he has instilled in their children by the way of discipline in Tae Kwon Do classes. Master Gil projects and expects confidence in his students and has faith that these lessons will be utilized in their everyday life.
 
George Panagiotakos is one of the new and upcoming Martial Arts Instructors in South florida. With fifteen years of martial arts experience, he is able to successfully teach, share, and utilize his knowledge of Martial Arts to his students. He is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, and has been a Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and Filipino Stick Fighting instructor for over seven years. With his hard work and determination he is able to train with the elite fighters in South Florida. Recently receiving his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from Master Pablo Popovitch, He has been recognized by the number one Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighter as black belt worthy. George has competed in numerous NAGA and Grappler Quest Competitions, successfully winning numerous titles.

George’s teaching skills shine through his kids, who have trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, and Filipino Stick Fighting for years. His eldest son Kenneth is currently a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, winning numerous titles at NAGA competitions. Kenneth has recently dominated the 170 lb Gi Division, ranking as one of the top grapplers in the state. His youngest son Demitrios is a talented fighter. At only eight years old he has competed at many Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions winning numerous first places. His daughter has recently just started training BJJ, and is currently a green belt. With less than a year of experience in BJJ she competed in local Grappler Quests and NAGA competitions, defeating her competitors.

George is currently receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University majoring in Exercise Science. With his knowledge of health, nutrition, and martial arts he is able to connect them together and use them to help his future students.
 
Andy Alsina is the newest Tae Kwon Do instructor at TKA. Although he is our newest instructor Mr. Alsina is a long time student under Master Gil receiving his black belt in December 2003, at the age of 30. He started training with his son as a way of bonding and exercise, immediately he was hooked taking several classes per day. With his love of Martial Arts he also became a Muay Thai instructor. As an assistant instructor and trainer alongside Master Gil he used his unique training techniques to win several kickboxing titles with his fighters. Mr. Alsina has also trained his son to receive his black belt in Tae Kwon Do, green belt in judo, Florida state champ in judo, several first place finishes in Naga competitions and is currently testing for his black belt in Jeet Kune Do “I strive to bring the best out of everyone". Kenneth Panagiotakos is an upcoming Instructor of Mixed Martial Arts within South Florida. With twelve years of Mixed Martial Arts experience Kenneth has been successfully teaching the art of Brazilian Jujitsu for several years, he is able to employ the knowledge and art of his Mixed Martial Experience to his students. He is a Brazilian Jujitsu Purple Belt with nine years of experience, but also knowledgeable with seven years of kickboxing and seven years of Eskrima (Stick/Knife Fighting). With this said he is able to utilize his array of diverse skills to teach and share professionally. His knowledge came from Nick Sacoulas a professional dog brother in weapons fighting, Pablo Popovitch the number one fighter in the world for Brazilian Jujitsu, and his Dad George Panagiotakos for teaching him Mixed Martial Arts and the one who started it all for him.

Kenneth has been competing in the NAGA Tournaments and Grapplers Quest for eight years and has retained his unwavering title for being the first and best in every tournament. Since his kids division to his teen division and now to his adult division he is unflinching at being at top. He has beaten top students from notable schools of the Brotherhood BJJ, To Gracie Bara, and to countless American Top Team Students, Extreme MMA, Marcel Garcia, and even fighter that have won the Pan Americans. As for his most recent win was in NAGA at 140 bumped up to 170-189 he fought the expert division only to dominate the competition. He is currently ranked as the 33# fighter with in Southern US States. Kenneth is pursuing the field of Medical Science Majoring in Biology.
